{"id":583,"date":"2011-04-07T12:50:07","date_gmt":"2011-04-07T01:50:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/?p=583"},"modified":"2015-03-05T17:05:24","modified_gmt":"2015-03-05T07:05:24","slug":"snapshot-for-shadow-copy-set-is-missing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/?p=583","title":{"rendered":"Snapshot for Shadow Copy Set is missing"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Problem<\/h2>\n<p>The error: <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">&#8220;[Shadow Copy] Snapshot for Shadow Copy Set is missing, backup<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"> terminate.&#8221; <span style=\"color: #000000;\">is seen in the backup report and logs.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<h2>Cause<\/h2>\n<p>The most common causes of this error are:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The computer has gone to sleep or the disk drives have been powered down during the backup.<\/li>\n<li>There is a lower-level problem with the physical disk or VSS subsystem.<\/li>\n<li>Some other backup software is creating\/destroying volume shadow copies during the backup.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Resolution<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Ensure that the computer power modes have been set to not sleep the computer or power down the disk drives.<\/li>\n<li>Check the Windows Event Log for any warnings or errors from the &#8220;Disk&#8221; source.
