CExBackup::backupService:HrESEBackupSetup: Error Number 0xc800020e: An incremental backup cannot be performed when circular logging is enabled.<\/span><\/p>\n

Cause:<\/h2>\n

Circular logging is enabled, which means that Exchange server writes out to only 4 transaction logs. Circular logging commits and recycles the logs to save disk space.<\/p>\n

Circular logging is used for specific environments where an incremental\/differential backup or transaction log backups are not required.<\/p>\n

Resolution:<\/h2>\n

  1. Disable Circular logging on ALL Storage Groups\n
      \n
    1. Disable circular logging on Exchange 2003<\/a><\/li>\n
    2. Disable circular logging on Exchange 2007<\/a><\/li>\n
    3. Disable circular logging on Exchange 2010<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n
    4. Restart the Microsoft Exchange Information Store from [Administrative Tools]->[Services].<\/li>\n
