{"id":1502,"date":"2012-10-23T11:50:14","date_gmt":"2012-10-23T00:50:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/?p=1502"},"modified":"2012-10-23T12:01:05","modified_gmt":"2012-10-23T01:01:05","slug":"exchange-20032007-restore-process","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/?p=1502","title":{"rendered":"Exchange 2003\/2007 restore process"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Prerequisites<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li> Ensure that Windows, Exchange and AD have been restored back (at the same service pack and patch level) to the target machine.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>Restore process<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li>Restore the  Exchange backup via the CyberSecure software agent to a   temporary location for the purposes of this guide: &#8220;E:\\Backup&#8221;.\n<ol>\n<li>Open CyberSecure<\/li>\n<li>Click &#8220;Restore&#8221;<\/li>\n<li>Choose the desired backup snapshot<\/li>\n<li>Restore back to a local location, eg &#8220;E:\\Backup&#8221;<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Once the restore process is complete, run the &#8220;ExchangeRestore&#8221; command for your appropriate platform using the following parameters:\n<ol>\n<li>DIR = Location of the restored backup files from CyberSecure Advanced.<\/li>\n<li>TEMP = Temporary location for the restore process to do work. This should be fast and have plenty of free space.<\/li>\n<li>SERVER = Name of the server to restore Exchange back to.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>For 32-bit platforms:<br \/>\n<strong>C:\\Program Files\\CyberSecure Advanced\\bin\\<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ExchangeRestore<\/span> DIR=&#8221;e:\\backup&#8221; TEMP=&#8221;e:\\temp&#8221; SERVER=&#8221;Win2k3&#8243;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ol>\n<li>For 64-bit platforms:<br \/>\n<strong>C:\\Program Files\\CyberSecure Advanced\\bin\\<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">ExchangeRestore64<\/span> DIR=&#8221;e:\\backup&#8221; TEMP=&#8221;e:\\temp&#8221; SERVER=&#8221;Win2k8&#8243;<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li>Here is an example of running the ExchangeRestore64 utility:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/exchangerestore-screenshot.fw_.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-1513\" title=\"exchangerestore-screenshot.fw\" src=\"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/exchangerestore-screenshot.fw_-198x300.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"198\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/exchangerestore-screenshot.fw_-198x300.png 198w, http:\/\/support.cybersecure.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/10\/exchangerestore-screenshot.fw_.png 484w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 198px) 100vw, 198px\" \/><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Mount the Exchange database afterward in System Manager for Exchange 2003 or Exchange Management Console for Exchange 2007.<\/li>\n<li>Repeat the same procedure for each database to be  restored. Verify  under the Event Viewer if there is any error  generated during the  restore process.
